Das Spätrömisch-frühmittelaterliche Gräberfeld Oberbuchsiten
Mit den Grabfunden aus Oberbuchsiten besitzt das Schweizerische Landesmuseum einen der wichtigsten archäologischen Bestände aus der Übergangszeit von der römischen zur frühmittelalterlichen Epoche im Gebiet der Schweiz. Der mehrere Hundert Gräber aus der Zeit vom 4. bis ins 7. Jahrhundert n. Chr. umfassende Bestattungsplatz wurde grösstenteils bereits zwischen 1895 und 1900 ausgegraben. Funde und Befunde werden in der vorliegenden Publikation erstmals vollständig vorgelegt und wissenschaftlich ausgewertet. Ausgehend von Untersuchungen zur Chronologie, zum Belegungsablauf und zur Beigabensitte stehen dabei Fragen nach der Belegungskontinuität und nach der Herkunft der bestatteten Bevölkerung im Vordergrund.

La nécropole du Bas-Empire et du Haut Moyen Âge d'Oberbuchsiten SO
Le mobilier funéraire provenant d'Oberbuchsiten et conservé au Musée national suisse représente un des ensembles archéologiques les plus importants témoignant de la transition entre l'époque romaine et le Haut Moyen Age. Fouillée déjà en grandie partie entre 1895 et 1900, la nécropole regroupe plusieurs centaines de tombes datant de la période comprise entre le IVe et le VIIe siècle ap. J.-C. Dans cette publication, les objets et les structures sont présentés pour la première fois dans leur intégralité et étudiés de manière scientifique. A partir des analyses concernant la chronologie, les phases d'occupation et le mobilier funéraire, le texte se concentre notamment sur les questions liées à la continuité d'occupation et à l'origine de la population inhumée.

The Late Roman - Early Medieval cemetery of Oberbuchsiten SO
With the burial finds from Oberbuchsiten, the Swiss National Museum is in possession of one of the most important archaeological assemblages dating from the transition period from the Roman to the Early Medieval epochs found to date in the region of present-day Switzerland. Large parts of the burial site comprising several hundred burials dating from the 4th to the 7th centuries AD were already excavated between 1895 and 1900. With this volume its finds and features are comprehensively published and scientifically analysed for the first time. Starting with the study of the chronology, the burial sequence and the funerary rites, questions as to the continual use of the cemetery and the origin of the population buried there are the main issues dealt with here.

La necropoli tardoromana-altomedievale di Oberbuchsiten SO
I corredi funerari provenienti da Oberbuchsiten e conservati al Museo nazionale svizzero costituiscono uno dei complessi archeologici più importanti risalenti al periodo di transizione tra l'epoca romana e l'Alto Medioevo. Già scavata in buona parte tra il 1895 e il 1900, la necropoli raggruppa varie centinaia di tombe datate a un'epoca compresa tra il IV e il VII secolo d. C. In questa pubblicazione, le strutture e i ritrovamenti vengono presentati per la prima volta integralmente e studiati secondo metodi scientifici. A partire dalle analisi riguardanti la cronologia, le fasi di occupazione e i corredi funerari, il testo si concentra segnatamente sulle questioni relative alla continuità di occupazione e all'origine della popolazione inumata.
